It’s not easy to get your hands around Tom Clancy’s The Division, a sprawling video game exploring urban conflict and disaster response after a bio-terror pandemic in New York. But the Center for International Maritime Security’s Real Time Strategy podcast explored how the title can be useful to the national security community. From visualizing a failed Manhattan Island block by block to planning the steps to establish basic security in an environment thick with freed criminals, organized gangs and rogue private military contractors, the game’s utility shines through in large part because of its complexity.
